James Beryl Sutherland

James Beryl Sutherland
January 4, 1952 ~ January 19, 2026

James (Jim) Beryl Sutherland, age 74, of Bartlesville, passed away on January 19, 2026. He was born on January 4, 1952, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, to Herman and Charlene Sutherland.

Jim was born and raised in Bartlesville. He graduated from College High School in 1970 and attended Tri County Tech, where he studied auto body repair. A skilled auto mechanic for more than 35 years, Jim took pride in his work and was known for his honesty, dedication, and strong work ethic.

In 1968, Jim met the love of his life, Linda. They were married on January 22, 1972, and shared nearly 54 years of marriage filled with love, partnership, and mutual support. Together, they embraced life as entrepreneurs, operating various businesses over the years. In 2002, Jim and Linda founded Highway Man Signs. In 2009, they proudly turned the business over to their son, Kenneth.

Jim was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who worked tirelessly to provide for his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Linda Sutherland; his son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Danielle Sutherland; and his three cherished granddaughters, who brought him immense joy.

Outside of work, Jim had many passions. He loved racing and working on cars, camping and spending time at the lake, woodworking, exploring flea markets, playing video games, and building computers. He was a man of many talents and endless curiosity.

Those who knew Jim will remember him most for his sense of humor, his straightforward honesty, and his ability to strike up a conversation with anyone—he truly never knew a stranger. As a father, he was supportive without being overbearing, allowing his family the space to grow while always being there when needed.

James Beryl Sutherland leaves behind a legacy of hard work, integrity, love, and laughter. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Services are pending. Arrangements are under the direction of Carter Davis and the Davis Family Funeral Home and Crematory - Walker Brown Chapel.
