Jeffrey Joel Sumner, 44, of Shawnee, died Thursday, August 4, 2011, at a local hospital after a long bout with diabetes.

He was born November 22, 1966, in Shawnee to Don and Jenetta Sumner.

He graduated from Shawnee High School in 1985. He attended St. Gregory's College from 1985 to 1986 and OSU from 1986 to 1988.

He is survived by son, Drake Sumner; parents, Don and Jenetta Sumner; sister, Jennifer Douglas and husband, Scott; and two nephews.

Memorial service will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 8, 2011, at Living Word Church with Cliff Briscoe officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Living Word Church of St. Gregory's University scholarship fund.
