Nancy Sue (Lilburn) Summers, 89, was born October 30, 1934, to Everett and Neva (Barr) Lilburn in Pampa, Tx, the sixth of nine children. With so many siblings. She had many adventures, some that she was lucky to live through, and that may have been where she developed her mischievous streak and honed her negotiation skills. Nancy was a conscientious student and was the valedictorian of her class. After high school graduation, she went to business college, then went to work in the Law Offices of Chappel and Maddux in Nowata, Ok for 30+ years. While working for them she got her associate degree from O.U. as a paralegal. After her boss became a judge, she continued to run his office, getting his signature when needed. During this time. she was busy raising kids and exploring hobbies which included sewing for her daughter and herself, learning stained glass, woodworking and painting. Many friends and family members have benefitted from those hobbies. This was also when she developed her love for the game of golf.
She married Ron Summers on November 23, l987 in Nowata, OK. They enjoyed traveling and playing golf. She and Ron played golf everywhere they went. She was Club Champion on more than one occasion. They split their time between Colorado City, CO where they built a home and Mission, TX. They truly enjoyed their time in each place equally and made lifelong friends everywhere they were. They moved back to Oklahoma in 2015. She was very active at the Senior Citizen Center and at any bridge game she could find. She also was active in the Salvation Army and Bartlesville Ladies Connection.
Nancy was predeceased by her parents, her son, Gilbert Riff; brother Jack Lilbur, Sisters: Bonnie Layton, Katie Link and Rose Marie Smith.
She is survived by her husband Ron, of the home, son, Steve (Janice) Riff of Pryor, daughter, Cindy (Drew) (Wells) (Paul) Creech of Bartlesville, Grandchildren: Russ (Amy) Riff of Tulsa, Kailey (Sean) Smith of Pryor and Andy Creech of Bartlesville; Great GrandChildren, Addison and Ryker Riff of Tulsa, Sister Carol (Lewis) Smith of Bartlesville, Brothers: Ralph Lilburn of Bartlesville, Jim (Linda) Lilburn of Nowata and Mike (Jane) Lilburn of LaGuna,CA. Also, many nieces and nephews and numerous friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation be made to, The 55 + Senior Center, Cornerstone Hospice, or any charity of your choice.
