Summerhill, Edward “Butch”, 53, passed away Sunday, January 22, 2012 in Norman, Oklahoma. He was born March 23, 1958 in Amarillo, Texas to Homer and Jewel (Haning) Summerhill. Butch was united in marriage on February 2, 2002 in Norman, OK to Lesli Wilmoth.
Butch earned an associates degree in Electrical Engineering and Technology while in the Air Force and attended the University of Texas. He retired after 22 years of serving his country in 2002. He then worked eight years as a Mission Specialist for the FAA. Butch was an avid fly fisherman and enjoyed traveling the world. He was a Texas Longhorn and Dallas Cowboy fan and loved the OU vs Texas rivalry. Butch loved spending time with his family and was a wonderful “Poppy”.
Butch is survived by his wife, Lesli Summerhill of the home; son, Chad Duncan and wife Pamela of Edmond; daughters, Cassi Yarbrough and husband Ben of Moore and Jennifer Summerhill of Bryan, TX; brother, John Summerhill of Ennis, Montana; sister, Dixie Cheek of Denison, TX; grandson, Brayden and two granddaughters on the way. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial services will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 28, 2012 in the Chapel of the Havenbrook Funeral Home.
Arrangements for Butch and his family were placed in the care of the Vice Family at Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman.
