Sullivan, Kathleen Anne (Thrower), 63, passed away Sunday, March 13, 2011 in Norman, Oklahoma. Kathleen was born September 4, 1947 in Detroit, Michigan to James and Virginia (McRee) Sullivan.
Kathleen graduated from Bishop McGuiness in 1965 and received her bachelor's degree from OCU and her master's from Oklahoma University. She taught at McKinley and Jefferson Elementary before starting her own tutoring business. She then went into real estate where she found her true calling. She was a realtor for 20 years and with the Dillard Group for the past 10 years. Kathy found another love in life, horses. She was an active member of the American Quarter Horse Association, the Oklahoma Quarter Horse Association, Oklahoma Association of Realtors, Norman and Oklahoma City Board of Realtors and many other associations. She owned, bred and raced quarter horses and thoroughbreds. She loved them and they loved her, always looking for their scratches and peppermints. Kathleen loved her family, her horses and the Oklahoma State Cowboys.
Memorials may be made to the America's Horse Cares program of the American Quarter Horse Association, 2601 E. I-40, Amarillo, TX 79104.
She is survived by one son, Ryan Thrower of Minnesota; one daughter, Beverly Thrower and husband John Dixon of California; one brother, James Sullivan and wife Suzanne of Tulsa; three grandchildren, Cole Thrower, Ashlyn Dixon and Kaely Dixon; one nephew, Ryan Sullivan and twelve horses.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
