Ricky Gene "Rick" Sturm
July 25, 1965 ~ December 7, 2024

Ricky Gene "Rick" Sturm age 59 of Tecumseh, Oklahoma passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at his home, surrounded by his wife and children.

He was born July 25, 1965 in Keokuk, Iowa to Floyd Leon and Hazel (Moats) Sturm. He grew up in southeast Iowa and northeast Missouri and attended several different schools. He graduated from Maud High School in 1983.

Rick married Tina Miner on January 31, 2004 Shawnee, Oklahoma.

Rick worked as an industrial equipment mechanic for Tinker Air Force Base. He stayed busy working on lawn mowers, vehicles or anything else with a motor for his friends and family. He worked many odd jobs and could fix anything. He became friends to many strangers by these acts of kindness he enjoyed doing. He was always with his dog Scout and they went everywhere together. He will be dearly missed by his loving family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Larry Sturm, Jack Sturm, Bill Sturm, and Alan Sturm; and sister, Janet Lively.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Tina Sturm of the home; daughter, Brittany Oswald and husband Chase, of Shawnee; son, Dylan Sturm and wife Jessica of Shawnee; son, Corey Wilson of Tecumseh; daughter, Harley Sturm and her fiancé Kade Self of Shawnee; grandchildren, Laikyn Oswald, Odin Oswald, and Viktoria Balbuena-Sturm; mother and father in-law, Beverly and Dub Miner, of Tecumseh; brothers and sisters, Floyd "Skeet" Sturm and wife Kay, June Roberts, Jane Porter, Joyce Gates, Terry Sturm, Jeanne Rule, Bob Sturm and wife Cindy; sister-in-law, Evie Reed and husband Troy; brother-in-law, Jim Miner and wife Natahlie; and special family friend, Geri Goode, and numerous nieces, nephews and other family and many friends.

Visitation will be held 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 12, 2024 at Cooper Funeral Home and the family will be gathering to greet guests from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 13, 2024 at Sharon Baptist Church, Shawnee with Brent McCutcheon officiating, under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
