January 19, 1942 ~ October 23, 2018

Sondra Rae (Outhier) Sturgeon was born January 19, 1942, in Fairview, OK. Her parents Raymond T. Outhier Jr. and Madeline Beatrice Outhier settled on a farm near the Homestead community just west of Okeene, OK, where she started her education. After graduating from high school in 1960, Sondra attended Oklahoma State University where she met Carroll Sturgeon from Lake Valley, OK. They were married on September 10, 1961, at the Methodist Church in Carmen, OK. Both attended Oklahoma State University, where their daughter Tammy was born in March of 1965. Sondra then left school to become a mother while supporting Carroll through several years of college.

Upon leaving Stillwater, the family moved to Phillipsburg, KS, where Sondra started her career in finance and banking. After several moves, they made a home in Dodge City, KS, where she retired from the Centera Bank in 2012. When Carroll retired, the couple moved to Edmond,OK, to be closer to family.
