George Frederick Stuever was born on August 1, 1929 in Ponca City, OK to Frederick and Naomi Stuever and passed away on August 27, 2012 in his home surrounded by his family.
He was raised in Lawton and attended St. Mary's School. He joined the U.S. Army and served his country. Upon his return he attended several universities earning a Masters in Education. He became a coach, teacher and principal for 38 years. Also during those years he was consumed with family, ranching and farming.
He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church where he was active in the Knights of Columbus. He was a member of the American Hereford Association; Lawton Rotary Club where he was a past president. He also served on numerous boards including; Salvation Army, Boys Club, Southwestern Oklahoma Federal Credit Union, and several local and state classroom teacher associations.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Frederick James Stuever, his brother, Joseph Henry Stuever and grandson, Frederick Charles Stuever.
He is survived by his wife, Alice, who he married in Lawton, OK on August 13, 1949. His Children, Cynthia Dianne Lamb, Catherine Ellen Alexander, Joe Paul Stuever, 7 Grandchildren; Shawn Davenport; Dustin Davenport; Misty Stuever; Billy George Stuever; Lori Lynch; JR Riggins; Stacee Jo Morgan; 12 Great Grandchildren, Ashley Davenport; Drew Davenport; Darcy Davenport; Ashlynn- Fay Davenport; Kacie Lynch and Shelbi Riggins, Riley Morgan; 2 Great Great Grandchildren, Samuel Davenport and Chloe Reeves and host of other relatives and friends.
