Funeral services for Mrs. Wanda Studebaker, age 77, of Norman will be held at 2:00 Saturday, October 30, 2010 in The Chapel of the Havenbrook Funeral Home, 3401 Havenbrook Street in Norman with Reverend Dr. Robert Rice officiating.
Wanda was born March 15, 1933 in Bromide, Oklahoma the daughter of John Washington and Seluda (Smith) Wallis. She passed away Tuesday, October 26, 2010 in the Emergency Room at Norman Regional Hospital.
Wanda attended schools in Wapanucka, graduating from high school there in 1951. She later attended East Central University in Ada, OK and the University of Oklahoma in Norman.
She was united in marriage to Joe Studebaker on Valentine's Day, 1986 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Wanda was employed by Troy State University in Troy, Alabama which required her and Joe to travel extensively. From 1987 to 1995 Wanda and Joe lived in Japan, while Wanda was on assignment for the University. She retired in 1995 and her and Joe moved back to Norman and traveled extensively.
She enjoyed gardening, with a special fondness for roses and peonies. Wanda often joked with her daughter, Suzie, that she could grow better rose and peonies plants than her.
Wanda was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Norman.
Survivors include her husband, Joe of the home in Norman; her daughter, SueAnn Stuart and her husband, David of Greenville, Texas; three sisters; Ethel Hall of Ada, Oklahoma; Loveta Lane and her husband, James of Gainesville, Texas; and Faye Moody and her husband, Jack of Wapanucka, Oklahoma; six grandchildren; Rose Sloan of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Jackie Titus of Moore, Oklahoma; Misty Snider of Sherman, Texas; Len Stuart of Linden, Texas; Lindsey Stuart of Greenville, Texas; Lacey Stuart of Sherman, Texas and Laura Stuart of Royse City, Texas.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Lena Gay Titus in 1997; two brothers and three sisters.
Visitation will be held 4:00P.M. to 8:00P.m. Friday, October 29, 2010 at The Havenbrook Funeral Home in Norman, Oklahoma.
