James Albert Stubbs Sr., 74 year old from Mooreland, OK, passed from this life on May 26, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family. James had endured a lengthy battle with lung cancer.
James was born January 25, 1940 to John Henry and Edith Opal Winchester Stubbs in Charlotte, AR. When James was 10 his family moved to Bald Knob, AR where he grew up and attended school. In August of 1958, he enlisted in the United States Army. He served his country proudly and was honorably discharged in August of 1964 with the rank of Special 4th Class.
James was united in marriage to Ethel Hembree. To this union four children were born, James Jr., Carol, Patricia and Sammy. James worked as a pipe liner inspector and owned STUBBS Texaco Services in Bald Knob, AR. Jame�s career led him to Mooreland, OK in 1980. In November of 1980, James married June Newman and to this union one daughter was born, Sara. James continued pipelining and inspecting until he retired in October of 2013. James enjoyed being with his family and loved going to the casinos. He loved all his children and grandchildren and will be deeply missed.
James was preceded in death by his parents, his wife June of 23 years, and his sister Nadine �Stubbs� Farber.
He is survived by his two brothers, Douglas Stubbs and wife Katherine of Okarche, OK, and Billy Bazzle of Judsonia, AR; children James Jr. and wife Brenda Stubbs of Hayward, CA, Carol and Husband Bryan Harris of Mooreland, OK, Patricia and Fiance� Kevin Davis of Woodward, OK, Sammy and wife Kerrie Stubbs of Mooreland, OK, Sara and husband John Cramer of Woodward, OK; step-children Valerie and husband Rich Johnson of Morganhill, CA, Brenda Ezell of Salem, OH, Kay and husband Joe Toalston of Kensington, OH, Anthony Rutledge of Norman, OK, and Charles Clapper of Norman, OK; grandchildren James �Bo� Stubbs III, Eric Stubbs, Aaron DeLong, Shayla DeLong, Erika Stubbs, Jesika Snider, Jakob Snider, Tailon Stubbs, Gracie Cramer and Landry Cramer; step-grandchildren Brandy Sanborn, Amy Owsley, Christopher Ewing, Jamie Ewing, Anjelica Johnson and Vanessa Johnson; great-grandchildren Chelsea Stubbs, Dayson Thomas, Raelynn Schlarb and Jaxin DeLong; several nieces, nephews and friends.
