Troy Don Stubblefield, 78, of Tuscola, TX passed away Thursday, February 28, 2013. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
Troy was born on March 9, 1934 in Dill City, OK to the late Fred and Goldia (Mosier) Stubblefield. He was a 1953 graduate of Hammon High school. Troy worked on several ranches in the Canadian area and was an employee at the Texas Highway Department until his retirement. After retiring, he enjoyed driving a school bus for the Canadian ISD. Troy's passion was team roping, both competitively and for pleasure.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Goldia Stubblefield, and one brother, Ted of Dimmitt, Texas.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Wilson Stubblefield, of the home; two daughters, Leslie Wilson Buenz and her husband, Larry, and Sherry Hensley, all of Frankford, Illinois; a grandson, Matthew, of Frankfort, Illinois; two stepchildren, Bill Merrick of Pampa, Texas, and Sheila Rhodes of Oklahoma, and their families; three sisters, Jo Ann Henderson of Elk City, Oklahoma, Vonnell Lacey of Yukon, Oklahoma, and Pat Washuta of Grapevine, Texas; a brother, Terry Stubblefield and wife, Judy, of Ovalo, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews and many loved ones.
