Paulette Sue (Benson) Stubblefield, born in Ardmore, Okla. on December 26, 1949, passed away on April 18, 2012 at the age of 62. She grew up in Alva, Okla., graduating from Alva High School in 1967. Paulette attended Northwestern State College and worked at the college switchboard.
In 1968 she married Gayland D. Hackney who was in the Air Force. Michelle Lea, their daughter, was born on January 19, 1969. They later moved to Altus, Okla., where Paulette began working for Southwestern Bell and Gayland was stationed overseas. Divorced in 1973, Paulette moved to Oklahoma City.
There she married Donald Stubblefield. She retired from Southwestern Bell in 2000, and enjoyed her grandchildren, playing bingo, decorating cakes, going to the farm, and the Freedom Rodeo.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and David Rinehart, two grandchildren, Heather and Brandon of Oklahoma City, Okla., her brother, Paul Benson of Crowley, Texas, and her sister, Pam Benson Runkel of Waxhaw, N.C., nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents Martin and Dorothy Benson of Alva, OK.
