Annie Laura Price Strickland was born April 28, 1908 in Paris, Texas to Claudia and John Price. She passed away November 2, 2002 in Leedey Nursing Center, at the age of 94 years 7 months and 4 days.
She was married to M. E. "Dick" Strickland at Durham, Oklahoma on January 25, 1925.
Annie and Dick farmed in Durham, Oklahoma until his death in 1971 when she moved to Cheyenne to make her home. She had been a homemaker most of her life except for a few years when she worked as a postal clerk in Durham.
She was a member of Cheyenne Church of Christ.
Annie was preceded in death by her husband; parents, two sons, Merle and Billy Strickland; two brothers, Houston and Morris Price; and two grandchildren, Karen Harp and Gail Strickland.
Services will be held Wednesday, November 6, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at Cheyenne Church of Christ, officiated by Kendall Abener. Burial will be at Prairie Dell Cemetery under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service.
Survivors include one son, Ronald "Ron" Strickland and wife Marcia of Pasadena, Texas; one daughter, Carolyn Curb of Clovis, New Mexico; one sister, Mary Holt and husband G. H. of Amarillo, Texas; six grandchildren, Marlene Shaw and husband Johnny of Carter, Oklahoma; Doris Newman and husband Bert of Carter, Oklahoma; Jerry Strickland and Tom Strickland; Carina Strickland and Sam Strickland of Pasadena, Texas; one great granddaughter, Annie Shephard and husband Charlie of Butler, Oklahoma; one great grandson, Taylor Shaw of Durham, Oklahoma; three great great-grandchildren, Laura, Issac and Brad Shephard, all of Butler, Oklahoma; and a host of other relatives and friends.
