David Hunter Strang

David Hunter Strang
November 28, 1938 ~ May 8, 2021

David H. Strang, Retired Oklahoma State Game Warden, reported to his new duty station in Heaven May 8th of 2021 at 82 years of age. He passed away in his longtime Bartlesville home surrounded by his family after a brave battle with cancer.

Dave was born in Santa Monica, Ca. to Charles and Gertrude Strang. He met the love of his life while attending Eastern A&M University in Wilburton, Oklahoma. Dave and Linda Naush wed on August 28, 1959. Dave was drafted and proudly served his country in the United States Army in 1960.

Dave met the second love of his life when he started dream job as an Oklahoma Game Warden in 1968. He diligently served the sportsmen and women of Oklahoma in Washington County until his retirement in 2000. He was a proud member of the Bartlesville Elks Lodge and served as Exalted Ruler April 2001 – March 2002. Dave was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 610.

Dave had a passion for fly fishing, hunting and was a walking encyclopedia of all things firearms related. He always looked forward to Friday morning breakfast with all his retired law enforcement buddies. All of the things Dave loved took a back seat to spoiling his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Dave is survived by his wife, Linda of 62 years, his two children, Chuck (Michelle) of Manhattan, KS and Chad (Sonya) of Moore, OK, his granddaughters Sheldon (Jared Robertson) of Bartlesville and Emily of Manhattan, KS, his Grandsons Nick of Kansas City, MO and Bryce (Natalie) of Moore, OK, and his Great Granddaughters Charlie and Alex of Bartlesville.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 2:00pm
