Lawrence Edward "Larry" Stover
March 23, 1933 ~ February 15, 2014

Lawrence "Larry" Edward Stover, resident of Ponca City, OK, passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2014. He was 80.

The memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, February 21, 2014 , at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Bruce Taylor, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.

Larry was born on March 23, 1933 to Hiram L. Stover and Irene (Buzzi) Stover in Arkansas City, KS. He was raised in Arkansas City, KS. After graduation he attended Cowley County Community College. He then entered the US Army and was stationed in Ft. Riley, KS. After the Army he attended Kansas State University and earned a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering. He was married to Martha Lallman on November 22, 1958 in Arkansas City, KS. Larry went to work at Conoco as a Chemical Engineer. Through out the years he was very instrumental in helping develop domestic and foreign refineries. He spent seven years in London working with Conoco. He also spent years traveling over seas with foreign assignments and had the opportunity to enjoy different cultures. He retired after 38 years. After retirement he worked as a consultant for Jacobs Engineering. In his retirement he enjoyed being part of the Noon Lions and The Habitat for Humanity of Ponca City, where he put his many talents of wood working to use. He also enjoyed playing tennis as often as he could. He enjoyed restoring classic automobiles. He also enjoyed spending time with family especial his grandchildren.

He is survived by Wife, Martha Stover of the home; son, Brad Stover and wife Trina of Amarillo, TX; son, Douglas Stover and wife Sarah of Ponca City, OK; Grandchildren: Rachel Stover of Ponca City, OK; Hannah Rowlett and husband Jake of Ponca City, OK; Erika and Cameron Stover both of Amarillo, TX. He is also survived by his siblings; Doris Gilmore of Arkansas City, KS; Phyllis McCormick of Arkansas City, KS; Dennis Stover of Arkansas City, KS; Gerry Stover of Sapulpa, OK; Ronnie Stover of Mt. Vernon, IN; Rex Stover of Clayton, IN; Gaye Manning of Arkansas City, KS.

Preceded in death by his parents; sister, Helena Frazee; brother, Jerry Stover; and sister, Catherine Pottorf
