Marybelle Charlene Stone, 76, of Bridge Creek, died, Friday, May 1, 2020 in Alex. The daughter of Louis Johnson and Lucille Marie (Thomas) Oliver, she was born March 23, 1944, in Dallas, Texas.
Charlene was a homemaker and was Baptist in faith. In her spare time, she enjoyed shopping at garage sales, flea markets, and thrift stores. She was very generous and would often open her home to anyone who needed help. Throughout her life, she took in many kids and was know as “Granny” to everyone. Charlene was a great cook and loved preparing holiday meals for her family and friends. Everyone loved her red velvet cake. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis Johnson, Lucille Oliver, and Hershell Goree Reynolds; her husband, Tommie Douglas Eugene Stone; a granddaughter, Kristie Stone; one brother, Robert Oliver; and a sister, Diane Goddard.
Charlene is survived by her three daughters, Barbara Jean Hughes and husband, Jon, of Texas, Debra Ann McKee and husband, Henry, of Alex, and Sherry Florence Erickson of Alex; four sons, Charles Edmond Stone of Texas, Timothy Wayne Stone, Heath Warrengee Goree Stone, and Matthew Duck Stone, all of Bridge Creek; 15 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; one sister, Sue Nichols of Florida; her lifelong friend, Dana Boyer of Blanchard; and many other loved ones and friends.
