Chester Earl Stogsdill, 91, of Kingston passed away on Saturday, August 26, 2023, in Kingston. Earl was born December 7, 1931, in Tulsa to Emery Elias Stogsdill and Zella Vinola (Long) Stogsdill. He attended schools in Oklahoma, Kansas, and Arkansas while his family moved with the railroad. Earl married Shirley A Bridges in 1953 and they had four children together. Earl worked as a railcar repairman for North American Railway for many years. In 1970 Earl married Artie Mae Hensley and united their families together. In his free time, he enjoyed playing the guitar, woodworking, and even tried painting. What Earl loved most of all was making people laugh. Earl attended Bay Point Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his first wife Shirley Bridges Stogsdill, second wife Artie Hensley Stogsdill, stepson Mark Anthony Moore, four sisters Arlene Twitchell, Ruth Ellen Brinkley, Carolyn Sue Stogsdill, and Nelda June Stogsdill, and one brother Donald Eugene Stogsdill.
Earl is survived by two daughters Debra Earlene Howard and husband Paul of Aubry, TX, Lisa McDanel and husband Glenn of Kingston, OK, two sons Carl Michael Eugene Stogsdill of Jacksonville, FL, David Anthony Stogsdill of Kingston, OK, stepson Gary Moore and wife Darla of Texarkana, AR, stepdaughter Brenda Hines of Texarkana, one sister JoAnn Benefiel of Texarkana, AR, one brother Carl Vernon Stogsdill of Bristow CA, 13 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
