Richard C. Stewart, 79, of Spencer, Oklahoma, died July 30, 2013 in Harrah, Oklahoma. He was born June 20, 1934 in Asheville, North Carolina to Herman William Stewart and Viva Lee (Wise) Stewart.
He was in the US Navy from 1953 to 1957. In 1961,
Richard was ordained in the Southern Baptist Convention. He was a pastor of many churches in the Oklahoma City area until his retirement in 1992. He was employed at TG&Y and Hobby Lobby as a warehouseman until his retirement in 2005. He was a member of Nicoma Park First Baptist Church.
On June 19, 1955, he married the love of his life, Evelyn Staley. They were married for 58 wonderful years. On August 1, 1956, their first daughter, Sondra Lynn, was born and on April 6, 1960, their second daughter, Brenda Kay, was born. Richard and Evelyn were very involved in their daughters" lives and enjoyed being sponsors on many of their school activities.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, 2 two brothers Jack and Billy Stewart, and his oldest daughter Sondra Lynn Stewart-Davis.
His is survived by his loving wife, Evelyn of Harrah, Oklahoma, daughter Brenda and her husband Jimmy McGehee, two grandsons Jake McGehee and Justin McGehee and his wife Jawna and his great grandson Mason McGehee.
