James Stewart, 58 year old Woodward resident, died Wednesday, August 11, 2021. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 in the Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church with Reverend Jason Dirks officiating. Arrangements were made under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.
James Matthew Stewart was born on August 1, 1963 to Mountain View, California to Bernard Walker and Lapreal (Ivie) Stewart. James grew up in the Morgan Hill, California area and later graduated from Live Oak High School.
James worked in construction. He did landscaping, pool maintenence, and welding. He enjoyed listening to music, his family, sharing his recovery, supporting others in recovery, playing with his band, and playing with his grandkids. James also enjoyed playing guitar, rebuilding cars, and going fishing. He was a member of Celebrate Recovery and Trench Monkey.
He is survived by his sons, Chris Watson and wife Allison, and James Stewart, Jr.; daughters, Taylor Watson and wife Crystal, and Ellie Baird and husband, Jonathan; brothers, John Stewart and roommate Linda Bateman, and Duane Stewart; sister, Judy Stewart; granchildren, Jaxon Baird, Avery Baird, Crew Watson, Dylan Watson, Nathan Stewart, and Benjamin Stewart; a bonus loving father figure to Chente Taylor and Jacob Smith.
James is preceded in death by his parents, Bernard W. Stewart and Lapreal I. Stewart; and sister, Gayle Brindle.
James was deeply loved by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many more family and friends.
