Emma L. (Ball) Stewart

Emma L. (Ball) Stewart
August 17, 1926 ~ January 22, 2013

Emma L. Stewart, 86, of Del City, Oklahoma went home to be with the Lord January 22, 2013. Emma was born August 17, 1926 in Ripley, Ok. to Mary Elizabeth and Lucius Elkanah Ball.

She was a loving mother, aunt, sister and grandmother. Family was always a large part of her life. Grandchildren sleepovers, family dinners and camping at Keystone and Roaring River were always a highlight.

Emma married Robert Stewart in Cushing February 9, 1946. They met on a Sunday at Hetherington pool South of Ripley. Emma and a friend were swimming when her friend began to struggle in the water. He jumped in and grabbed Emma. She jerked loose and swam off. Robert did help the girl. After traveling throughout the US while Robert was in Air Force, Robert retired in 1965 and they made their home in Del City. She worked as Cafeteria Manager in Med Del Schools for sixteen years and provided loving care and guidance for children her entire life. After she retired, Emma and Robert enjoyed the winters in South Texas and attended many Blue Grass festivals.

Emma is survived by her husband, Robert Dillon Stewart, children Linda Camren, Bob Stewart, Cindy Plaster, Steve Stewart, eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
