Gregory Wallace Steward

Dec. 11, 1974 ~ Nov. 9, 2017

Gregory Wallace Steward, 42 passed away Nov. 9, 2017. 

Gregory was born Dec. 11, 1974, in Stillwater to Dr. Clarence Scott Steward and Nancy Steward. 

He attended Shawnee High School, Shawnee, and Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, where he graduated with a degree in accounting and finance. He was member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon, where he made many lifelong friendships. 

He was married to Stephanie Steward from 2000 to 2009, who is the mother of his only child, Stevie. Gregory deeply loved his family and was a loyal son, father and friend. He loved being a father to his beloved daughter, Stevie Jean. Gregory loved his OSU Cowboys and could often be found cheering them on and was possibly OSU's biggest fan. 

Gregory was baptized in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ in Junior High at First Christian Church in Shawnee. His life was defined by his love of sports. He stayed active in later years and was an avid runner. He loved Frisbee golf when he needed to be outdoors and when nothing OSU related was on TV. 

Preceded in death by: his father Dr. Clarence "Scott" Steward, his sister Lindsey Jean Steward, uncle Stacy Steward, grandmothers Jean Stubbs and Betty Steward Lowery and grandfather Clarence W. Steward. 

Survived by: his mother Nancy Steward, daughter Stevie Jean Steward of the home, grandfather Connie Mack Stubbs of Shawnee, aunt Shirley Stubbs of Shawnee, uncle Bruce Steward of Overland Park, Kansas, and cousin Russell Steward of Overland Park Kansas, aunt Peg Nally and cousins Kelsey and Megan Steward of Garden City, Kansas, Erik and Kari Gowland of Oklahoma City, Colton, Catie, Bryton and Breelynn Malone, Chris and Sheri Walker and Summer and Nicolas Moran of Shawnee. 

Service will be at 10 a.m., Monday, Nov. 13, at Walker Funeral Home Chapel. Close friend David Jordan will officiate, and music will be by close friend Patrick Winsett. Burial will be private.
