Katherine Peni Stevens left this life all too soon to be with the Lord at the age of 59 on January 20, 2020. She passed peacefully at home, in Chandler, AZ in the company of her husband, daughter and brother after a brief but fierce battle with cancer.
Born April 12, 1960 to Judith Irey Winchester (deceased) and Dannie Winchester in Stillwater, Oklahoma, Kathy was raised in Enid, Oklahoma. She attended Chisholm High school, Oklahoma State University and graduated from Phillips University.
In 1985, Kathy moved to Dallas, Texas where she began her career and advanced rapidly in the burgeoning field of computer network engineering. In 1989, she married her husband, Scott Stevens. Scott and Kathy had one child, Kendall Nicole Stevens, in 1992. Kathy left work behind in 1996 to devote her attention to her daughter and her husband.
Kathy, a devout Christian and member of the Church of Christ, made her mark on the hearts of church members all over as she moved from Dallas, Texas to Wills Point, Texas, to Sammamish, Washington, to Torrance, California then Chandler, Arizona.
Kathy was the epitome of Proverbs 31:26-28 which says: She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her.
Kathy was loved by all who knew her. She was a beautiful soul with a kind heart, as beautiful inside as she was physically. As full of grace as she was touched by the Grace, she has earned her reward and now is at rest.
She is survived by her husband, Scott Stevens, her daughter, Dr. Kendall Stevens, her brother Gregg Winchester and wife Nancy, brother Jake and wife, her father Dannie Winchester, as well as a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and countless cousins.
We know you are home with your Lord. We love you to the moon and back!
