Charles G. Sterkel
May 1, 1943 ~ January 18, 2006

Charles G. Sterkel, age 62, died on January 18, 2006 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, stemming from a long bout with emphysema.

He attended Harmony grade school and Northeast high school. He spent six years in the Army and was discharged at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. He enjoyed fishing and bowling with his wife, Dona.

Charles was born in Oklahoma City on May 1, 1943 to Henry and Georgia Mae Sterkel and was the fifth of five children.

Charles is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Henry and Franklin; and one sister, Rosemary.

Charles is survived by wife, Dona; son, Wayne Sterkel and wife, Wendy of Lawton; two daughters, Melissa Roselle of Lawton and Heather Sterkel of Oklahoma City; one sister, Betty Bullock of Midwest City; three stepchildren: Michelle Kendrick, Shane May and Brandi Medina; 15 grandchildren; and lots of nieces, nephews and other family members.

Funeral service will be at 2 PM Saturday, January 21, 2006 at Bill Eisenhower Northeast Chapel.
