Grover Darrel "Okie" Stephens

Woodward, Okla. — Grover Darrel Stephens was born to Juanita and Grover Stephens, on February 28th, 1952 in Mooreland, Oklahoma; Grover was known by his family and friends as Okie. Okie passed away at his home in Lindsay, on January 3, 2014.

Okie lived his early life in Northwest Oklahoma and attended Fort Supply School. Okie served in the National Guard for 6 years before receiving honorable discharge. Okie spent his life driving a cattle truck; enjoyed hunting and fishing and later in life enjoyed gambling and found himself lucky.

Okie was preceded in death by his parents, Juanita and Grover and two brothers, Gerald Ray and Bob.

Okie is survived by siblings Jim Stephens, Linda Rogers, Shirley Sons, Berk Stephens, Charles Stephens, and Arlen Stephens. Okie is also survived by special niece and husband, Angie and Teddy Jarman, of the home. As well, Okie leaves behind many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Services for Okie will be Saturday, January 11th, 2014 at Fort Supply @1PM.
