Angela Gai (Mobbs) Starling was born September 29, 1969 in Midwest City,
Oklahoma to Michele (Vance) Mobbs and Bill Mobbs. She passed away June 14,
2023 after a courageous fight against lung cancer at the age of 53.
She
grew up in Irving, Texas and Moore, Oklahoma, before moving to Carney where
she resided until her death. She graduated from Carney High School with the
class of 1987, where she was cherished by her classmates. She met the love
of her life, Danny Starling after moving to Carney. Danny and Angi were
married on June 15, 1991.
Angi spent many years as a stay-at-home mom, but also worked as a bookkeeper for Don’s Contract Pumping for a time. She enjoyed being able to stay at home with her girls and loved helping in their classrooms when they were little. She loved being a mother to her two daughters, Haylie “HayBay” and Alexandra, “Lil Miss,” but loved being a Granny to her four amazing grandkids even more; Camden “Punkin Butt,” Scarlet “Letty Bird,” Wyatt “Smiley,” and Gabriella “Bean.”
She loved to tell stories and anecdotes about them to anyone who would listen. She enjoyed motorcycles and going to bike rallies, especially the ones they have out at Sparks. She loved music, especially Prince. Her signature attire was a v neck cut t-shirt (that she cut herself) jeans, and boots. She was always adorned with all her favorite pieces of jewelry, and she never went anywhere without spritzing on her favorite White Diamonds perfume. She lived for the fall when Oklahoma Sooner football started and would skip almost any event if it interfered with being able to watch the game. She was a bartender at the VFW Post 1719 in Chandler, Oklahoma for many years and made many lifelong friendships there. Angi was truly one of a kind and will be missed immensely by everyone who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Danny Starling; mother, Michele Mobbs; maternal grandfather, Jim Vance; paternal grandparents, Muirl and Lucille Mobbs; uncle, Rodney Mobbs; and aunt, Jenna Bruno.
She is survived by two daughters, Haylie Starling of Victoria, TX, and Alexandra Starling of Carney, OK; and four grandchildren, Camden Francisco, Scarlet Smith and Wyatt Smith of Carney, OK; and Gabriella Rocha of Victoria, TX.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 22, 2023 at Lehman Funeral Home. We kindly request that instead of the traditional black, you wear purple, as it was her favorite color. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
