Edward Carl Starkey

June 25, 1941 ~ September 11, 2007

Memorial services for Edward Carl Starkey, 66, of Thackerville, will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, September 14, at the Red River RV Resort Clubhouse, Thackerville, with the Rev. Lee Norman officiating.

Born June 25, 1941 in Pontiac, Michigan, the son of Marlin and Louise Ashbaugh Starkey, he died Tuesday, September 11, 2007, at his residence.

A retired computer tech, Mr. Starkey had made his home at Thackerville for the past four years. He and Lila M. Shafer were married September 8, 1961, in Keego Harbor, Michigan. Mr. Starkey enjoyed fishing, boating, and all types of sports.

Survivors include his wife, Lila M. Starkey of the home; mother, Louise Ashbaugh Ordas of Michigan; two sons, Edward C. Starkey Jr. of Michigan and Gerald N. Starkey of Oklahoma; a daughter, Diane Gazinski of Texas; three brothers, Marlin R. Starkey of Michigan, Charles Starkey of Arizona and David Ozga of Michigan; two sisters, Sharon Metzer of Colorado and Devona Ozga of Michigan; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
