Ima Jo (Mangus) Stapp
October 7, 1949 ~ May 14, 2021 (age 71)

Ima Jo (Mangus) Stapp, 71, of Tecumseh, Oklahoma passed away Friday, May 14, 2021 in Shawnee, following a 17 year battle with CADASIL.

Ima was the ninth of ten children born to James Lloyd and Martha Edna (Ketner) Mangus on October 7, 1949 in Tecumseh, Oklahoma.

Ima was raised in Tecumseh and attended Tecumseh Schools in K-12th grades. She graduated with the class of 1967 from Tecumseh High School.

Ima married James “Stanley” Stapp on December 2, 1967 in Poteau, Oklahoma.

She retired from Tinker Air Force Base after 27 years of service as an IT Specialist.

Ima was a long-time member of Sharon Baptist Church in Tecumseh, Oklahoma.

Until she became ill, her hobbies included crocheting, cross-stitching, camping with her family and spending time with her pride and joy, her husband, 2 children and her 4 grandchildren. Ima also liked going to the casino with her sisters.

She was preceded in death her parents, James and Martha Mangus; brothers, Charles Mangus and James Mangus; sister, Dorothy Newton; sister-in-law, Carrie Mangus and brothers-in-law, Charles “Charlie” Newton, Robert “Bob” Farr and Fritz Tegtmeier.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 53 ½ years, James “Stanley” Stapp of the home; daughter, Stana Kai Friend (Brad) of McLoud, OK; son, Gary Wayne Stapp (Brenda) of McLoud, OK; 2 grandsons, Christopher Cranford (Rebecca) of Carney, OK and Kyle Stapp (Allyson) of Midwest City, OK; 2 granddaughters, Nicole Gunder of Shawnee, OK and Jennifer Stapp of McLoud, OK; 1 great-grandson, Maverick Cranford of Carney, OK; 5 sisters, Cleta Farr of Shawnee, OK, Marcella Jones of Lake Havesu, AZ, Deloris Browning (Mark) of Spokane, WA, Helen Lamb of Shawnee, OK and Nancy Tegtmeier of Macomb, OK; 1 brother, Virgil Mangus (Jimmie) of Wellston, OK; mother-in-law, Betty Stapp of Tecumseh, OK; 2 sisters-in-law, Dovey Mangus of Tecumseh, OK and Linda Hawkins (Doug) of Midwest City, OK; many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Memorial Service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 21, 2021 at McLoud First Assembly of God with Pastor Danny Webb and Pastor Michelle Webb officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.

The family would like to thank the nursing staff on the 2nd floor and in ICU at SSM in in Shawnee and the staff and nurses who work for Angelic Hospice Care.
