I had the pleasure of talking to Bob Stacy many times during my years of employment with the Enid News and Eagle.
Bob was employed by the Oklahoma Press Association and was a great guy and definitely one of the best in his field of advertising. Most of my time there, I was the secretary for the advertising department and besides other occasions,
I was the one who booked the reservations for the Advertising Department annual weekend meeting at the Lincoln Plaza. and made sure everyone was in the right rooms , etc. Bob was the one in charge of keeping it all straight for OPA members.
Robert Richard "Bob" Stacy was born November 22, 1948 and passed from this life on August 19, 2010 at the age of 61.
A memorial service for him was held at 10 a.m. Monday, August 23, 2010 at the Hahn-Cook/Street and Draper Funeral Home Chapel in Oklahoma City.
Besides being a terrific salesman in the advertising field for Oklahoma Press Association, he had worked at the Edmond Evening Sun prior to joining OPA .
He was also a terrific athlete . He excelled in golf, tennis, pool, bowling and about any other physical activity he attempted.
I will always remember hearing his laugh at all the meetings we attended together. Never did I hear anything negative coming out of his mouth . And he was always available whenever needed.
Rest in Peace , Dear Bob .
