Martin Edward Stack age 66 of Purcell, passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at the Norman Specialty Hospital.
Martin was born on July 24, 1948 in St. Louis, Missouri. He also grew up and attended school in Missouri. After his junior year of high school he was 17 years old when he joined the United States Army. After basic training, Martin was shipped overseas where he proudly served his country during the Vietnam Conflict. After serving three years in the Army he was honorably discharged and returned home to Missouri. While in the service, Martin received the National Defense Service Medal, a Parachute Badge, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Combat Infantryman Badge.
Martin worked most of his life as a truck driver, driving cross country. After his health began to fail he retired from trucking and settled in Purcell. He has lived in the Purcell area for the past 10 years and has been active in the Lexington VFW and a regular member of the Purcell Senior Citizens Center. While attended the center he has enjoyed playing dominoes and working puzzles.
He is survived by his many friends at the Purcell senior citizens center. Also close friends, Ann and Clyde Gilman and Dan Ott.
Memorial Service will be held 1:00 p.m., Friday, April 24, 2015, at Purcell Senior Citizens Center. Arrangements are by Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell.
