Garold (Gary) Franklin Srader was born on August 4, 1942 in Lindsborg, Kansas to Duane and Clara Srader. He passed away in Prague, Oklahoma on June 22, 2022 at the age of 79. He grew up in Marquette, Kansas and after graduating from High School joined the United States Navy where he served on the USS Topeka unil 1965. On May 27, 1967 he married Diana Martin in Prague, Oklahoma where they began their life. They had two children, Tamara and Kevin.
Gary loved the outdoors and spent most of his free time hunting and fishing and was one of the first people to purchase a lifetime Oklahoma hunting and fishing license (#626). He loved collecting antique fishing tackle and could be found most Saturday mornings at an auction adding to his collection. He also loved birds and each winter would feed an average of 1400 pounds of seed. Each spring the yard would host families of bluebirds, wrens and painted buntings.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters (Sharon, Donna and Carla) and his Granddaughter, Brytni Kay Srader. He is survived by his wife Diana, his Daughter Tamara and partner Mia WIlliams; and his son Kevin and wife Sheila; two brothers Billy and Gale and numerous other nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Ducks Unlimited or the Sutton Avian Research Center.
A private service will be held by the family at the First Christian Church.
