Early morning Monday, December 13, 2021, William Burnett “Bill” Sprouse, of Thackerville, OK lost the battle with his illness at the age of 83. His journey in life began in Thackerville on December 7, 1938, the son of William Felix and Juanita Mae (Taff) Sprouse.
Bill was a longtime area resident of Thackerville. He was a Medic in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in February 28, 1962. Bill married the love of his life, Martha Lee Harper on April 20, 1956, in Gainesville, TX. She preceded him in death on October 20, 2015.
Bill was a hardworking man and was the owner and operator of Sprouse Trucking. Bill was a member of the Thackerville Methodist Church. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed deer hunting, boating, and fishing. Bill loved spending time with his family.
Bill is survived by son, Steve Sprouse and wife Brenda of Thackerville; daughter, Pam Bleything and husband Jim of Sanger, TX; brother, Marshall Sprouse and wife Betty of Thackerville; sister, Vivian Bray of Mead, OK; five grandchildren, Jaime Williams and husband Delane of Sanger, Phillip Monkres of Sanger, Katie Sprouse of Thackerville, Scottie Sprouse of Thackerville, and Krista Pinkston of Thackerville; and seven great-grandchildren, Kassidy Sprouse, Steven O’Donnell, Kylie Sprouse, Karson Willis, Mackenzie Kyle, Kalyn Willis, and Leviathan Sprouse.
In addition to his wife and parents, Bill was also preceded in death by brother, Bud Sprouse; and sisters, Betty Young, Ann Prock, and Alice Arnold.
A memorial service for Bill will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 18, 2021, at the Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home Chapel of Marietta, OK with Bro. Murray McMurray officiating.
