Joel Lee Spoon, age 40, of Norman, Oklahoma, passed away Saturday, September 16, 2023 at Norman Regional Hospital in Norman, Oklahoma.

He was born November 28, 1982, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, to Samuel and Venita Darlene (Cosper) Spoon.

Joel was born and raised in the Shawnee/Tecumseh area where he remained for most of his life.

He married the love of his life, Stephanie Lynn Enoch on September 17, 2016, in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

Joel’s Powerline career started when he was 16 years old. He started working at Winsons Pole Line Construction in Oklahoma City, as a ground hand. He then went on to work for other powerline companies like Red Simpson, Texas Electric, Utility Plus, Texoma Powerline, Sparks Inc. Midwestern, and Titan Powerline. He filled so many roles from lineman to superintendent. Joel currently worked for Force Electrical Services.

Joel loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping, riding ATVs, floating the river, and watching his kids play sports. He loved to grill and have all his family and friends over to eat and tell him about how good his food tasted. He was an OU football and softball fan.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Venita Darlene Spoon, grandparents, Clyde and Fern Spoon and Darla and Lilburn Cosper; uncle, Joe Spoon; and brothers-in-law, Chris Enoch and Michael Enoch.

He is survived by his wife, Stephanie Lynn Spoon of Norman, OK; three children, Canaan Spoon of Tecumseh, Paisley Spoon of Norman, and Raelee Spoon of Norman; his father, Samuel Lee Spoon and Tracey Cage of Tecumseh, OK; three sisters, April and Bobby Serena of Tecumseh, Cristi and Barry Naples of Shawnee, and Kara and Max Chapman of Shawnee; aunt and uncle, Loretta and Pete Mann; aunt and uncle, Gloria and Rex Cosper-Elmore; his best friends, Judd and Kendra Brown of Oklahoma and Junior and Linda Gouge; and other extended family and friends.

Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday September 22, 2023 at Sharon Baptist Church with Pastor Mark Guinn, Living Love Christian Center, Shawnee, OK and Glenn Mann officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
