Donna Jane (Bumpass) Spivey

Donna Jane (Bumpass) Spivey
April 4, 1947 ~ September 5, 2025

Donna Jane Bumpass Spivey passed from this life on September 5, 2025, in Norman, Oklahoma. She was born on April 4, 1947, the oldest daughter of Olga Jane (Martin) Bumpass and Frank Eugene Bumpass. Donna’s younger sister Cathy Jean Bumpass Huffman was born five years later in 1952. The two sisters shared an unbreakable bond that continued throughout both of their lives.

Donna grew up in Madill, Oklahoma, graduating from Madill High School as a proud member of the class of 1965. She attended Oklahoma State University and Southeastern State University. Donna married Dustin Carl Spivey on March 17, 1967, and they raised their two children, Stacey Devon Spivey and Dustin Brent Spivey, in Madill, surrounded by family and friends and love. Following Dustin’s death on August 1, 2006, Donna moved to Norman, Oklahoma, where she primarily resided since 2010.

Donna loved spending time with family and friends; singing in the Madill First Baptist Church Choir; lunching with Madill and Norman friends; Sooner football; Elvis; Halloween; and Pat Ward’s sugar cookies. Donna’s greatest pride and joy have always been her five beloved grandchildren, Isabel Charneco, Javier Charneco, Julian Charneco, Noland Spivey, and Carly Spivey. Being their DeeDee became Donna’s greatest passion and she showered them all with unending love.

Donna is survived by her children, daughter Stacey Spivey and husband Jorge Charneco of Norman, and son Brent Spivey of Dallas, Texas; her grandchildren Isabel, Javier, Julian, Noland, and Carly; her brother-in-law Sam Evans Huffman of Madill; her niece Kacy Huffman Pate and husband Nick Pate and their children Ethan Pate and Lukas Pate; her niece Brandi Huffman Powers and husband Kalan Powers and their children Evansli Powers and Elora Powers; and her brother-in-law and sister-in law, Towana Spivey and Phyllis Spivey, and their children Jetawn Spivey and Mariah Spivey.

Donna was preceded in death by her husband Dustin, her sister Cathy, and her parents, Jane and Frank.

Donna was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, DeeDee, and friend. She will be so very missed by all.
