The funeral for Berniece Mae Vogel Spicer, 85, of Kiowa, Kan., will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at United Methodist Church, Kiowa. Wayne Stephens, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Hazelton, Kan. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home Inc., Kiowa. Visitation will be from 1 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
She was born Dec. 12, 1921, in Alfalfa County to Albert and Elizabeth Gillig Vogel and died Friday, Sept. 7, 2007, in Kiowa District Hospital.
Surviving are one son, Sam Spicer of Hazelton; one brother, Albert Junior Vogel; one sister, Virginia Vogel Scott; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George; one son; two daughters; two brothers; and one sister.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to United Methodist Church of Kiowa or South Barber Elementary Project Playground.
