Nolan Spaugy, 75, of Shawnee, Oklahoma passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at his home.
He was born December 15, 1943 to Manuel and Ruby (Vanderveer) Spaugy in Sentinel, Oklahoma.
Nolan was raised in Tecumseh and attended Tecumseh Public Schools. He graduated with the class of 1962 from Tecumseh High School. Nolan later attended Rose State College. He lived most of life in the Tecumseh and Shawnee areas.
He married Linda Couey on September 14, 1989 in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
Nolan worked as a Quality Specialist at Tinker Air Force Base for 38 years. He taught Statistical Analysis and Process Control at Rose State College for 8 years.
He was active in square dancing and choreographed ballroom dancing, where he was the “leg crawl” king and held offices on the local district and state levels. Nolan loved military and historical documentaries. He was a great husband, father and grandfather and was an avid golfer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Ruby Spaugy.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Linda Spaugy of the home; 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Larry Upton of Norman, OK, Laura and Robert Manners, Shelburne, MA and Kelli and Tracy Littlehead of Edmond, OK; 1 son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Patti Spaugy of Bethel Acres, OK; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters and brothers-in-law, Marilyn and Hank Keck of Enid, OK and Judy and Harold Farris of Shawnee, OK; 1 brother and sister-in-law, Don and Lisa Spaugy of Tulsa, OK; numerous nieces, nephews; and other extended family and friends.
Memorial Service will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Mike Craig officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
