Julia "Agnes" Sparks was born June 22, 1915 in Mill Creek, OK to Robert and Julia Brashear. Her family moved to Pablo, CO when she was very young and then to Electra, TX where she graduated with the class of 1932. Her family then moved to the Valley View area in rural Grady County, Oklahoma.
On January 5, 1936 she married Jess "Willard" Sparks, and they have lived in the Dibble area since that time.
She died Saturday, December 30, 2006 at her home in Dibble at the age of 91 years. Services will be held at the Dibble Free Will Baptist Church, Tuesday, January 2, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. Sparks was well known for her sewing skills, and her fried apricot pies and apricot cobbler. She was a devoted wife and mother, and an excellent teacher of life to her children and grandchildren. She loved to read and passed that love on to her family. She had read the Bible cover to cover at least 4 times. Mrs. Sparks was a long time member of the Dibble Free Will Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of almost 1 years, Willard of the home in Dibble; sons Roy and his wife Leda of Chickasha; and Glen and his wife Betty of Dibble; daughters Frances Sparks-Fuller and husband Grady of Kennedale, TX; and Bertha Goggin and husband Darrell of Midwest City, OK; three daughters-in-law, Rita Sparks of Memphis, TN; Janet Sparks of Dibble; and Pat Sparks of Norman; 15 grandchldren; nine step-grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Corrine Gibson of Cabot, AR; and Clara Mae McLeod of Kemp, TX; many other loved ones and a host of friends.
Her parents, three brothers, three sisters, two infant great grandsons, an infant daughter, Julia Anna and three sons, Willard Robert, James and Charles preceded her in death.
