Ronnie Soviar was born March 28, 1954 in Toledo, Ohio to Alice and Paul A. Soviar. He passed away February 12, 2017 at Burns Flat, Oklahoma at the age of 62 years, 10 months and 14 days.
Ronnie grew up in Toledo, Ohio where he attended and graduated from St. Francis High School in 1972. After graduation he furthered his education at Georgia Tech where he had a scholarship for track and field and football. Ronnie returned to Toledo and worked for a glass factory and moved to Perryton, Texas where he worked on the Ellzey ranch for his brother-in-law. In the late 70's he began his career in the oil field working for Halliburton in Pampa, TX and in Burns Flat, OK. He was married to Karen Lyn (Jordan) Soviar at Cordell, Oklahoma on November 12, 1980. After their marriage they made their home in Burns Flat. In 1991 Ronnie began going overseas with Halliburton and continued until his retirement in May of 2015. Ronnie enjoyed fishing, reading, relaxing in his pool and spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Richardson and husband, Paul, Dewey, OK; 2 sons, Jeffrey Soviar, Oklahoma City, OK, Ryan Soviar, Burns Flat, OK; 3 grandsons, Cade, Conner and Cole Richardson, Dewey, OK; 5 siblings, Janet Ellzey, Jerry Soviar and wife, Mary Ann, Michael Soviar and wife, Michelle, Raymond Soviar and wife, Susie, Nancy Meyers and husband, John, and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family suggests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
