Joe Lynn Southerland, son of Charles E. and Alberta (Tharp) Southerland was born August 30, 1965 at Clinton, OK. He passed from this life at Grace Living Center, Woodward, OK. on February 2, 2020 at the age of 54 years.
Joe grew up in the Vici community and attended Vici Public Schools, graduating with the class of 1984. He enjoyed helping on the family farm south of Vici and being outdoors. He was employed at the Woodward Livestock Auction for several years, riding to and from work with various people. Due to failing health, he moved to Woodward in August of 2019. While living at Vici,
Joe could frequently be found riding his lawn mower to town to visit with folks at B-Mart and the Vici Café. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Vici and is preceded in death by his grandparents, Emery and Nancy Southerland and Albert and Clara Tharp and his parents, Charles and Alberta Southerland. He is survived by his sister, Rose Southerland of Woodward, OK., other family and friends.
A family gathering and visitation for Joe will be held on Thursday, February 6, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made towards the cost of the funeral service, Shaw Funeral Home, P.O. Box 276, Vici, OK 73859.
