Calvin Lee Soap was born on July 15, 1948, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to Jackson Soap and Ahniwake Teehee–Soap and he departed this life on October 9, 2022, in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 74 years, 2 months, and 25 days.
Calvin was a member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church. He would be there when the doors were open if he was able. He loved fishing and driving his pickup through town or what he like to call “splitting Stilwell.” He was known to wait for someone he knew at a store so they could go in for him. He retired from Peterson/Simmons, where he was a chicken catcher for 35 years. He enjoyed fellowship with his good friends and family. He was a father, brother, doodah, uncle, and cousin to many who he loved and cherished.
He was preceded in death by his son: Nathan Carlos Soap; companion: Ollie Sawney; sisters: Lela Soap, Ancie Soap–Shell, Hattie Soap, and Ruby Sawney; brothers: Ute Soap, and Billy Soap; half-sister: Corina Roastingear; half-brothers: Carl Locust, and Sambo Flynn; niece: Pauline Sanders; and special grandson: Malachi Smith.
Calvin is survived by his children: RoseAnna, Latisha, Kevin Soap, and Kacey Leach; stepson: Rodney Still; sisters: Lorene Soap, and Eliza Soap; brother: James Soap and wife Marie; and half-brother: James Locust and wife Sharon. A host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and friends also survive him.
Funeral Service was held 1:00 PM, Friday, October 14, 2022 at the Roberts-Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
