Willis Smith, 92, was born in Stidham, Oklahoma on January 12, 1925 to William Smith and Cecil Haynes Smith. He passed away on July 14, 2017 in Muskogee, Oklahoma.
He served in the U.S. Army and was a World War II Veteran. He was awarded several medals including the Distinguished Service Cross and Purple Heart. He married Cleva Ann Strout on July 9, 1946 and attended NSU in Tahlequah. He began his career as a Teacher and Retired in 1972.
Willis was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one son, Fred Smith, one Granddaughter Heather McAffee, five Brothers and 3 Sisters.
He is survived by his sons, Joe Smith, Claremore, Oklahoma, Wayne Smith and Wife Rosanne of Cushing, Oklahoma, Charlie Smith and wife Sherrie of Vinita, Oklahoma, Tom Smith and Brenda of Zena, Oklahoma, Russell Smith and Wife Carla of Miami, Oklahoma, one Daughter Patricia Clark and Husband Ike of Riverton, Kansas, one Brother Paul Jones of Stidham, Oklahoma, 2 Sisters, Mary Mutzig and Janice Jones of Texas. He is also survived by 12 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren and many Friends and Relatives.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
