Troy Lee Smith

Troy Lee Smith
December 30, 1927 ~ June 4, 2020

Troy Lee Smith, 92, of Bartlesville, died Thursday in Bartlesville.

Troy was born the son of Willie and Iva Smith December 30, 1927, in Brazil, in southeast Oklahoma. He was raised in Poteau, OK, and graduated from Panama High School in 1946. Shortly after, he entered the U.S. army and served stateside during World War II. Once honorably discharged Troy married the love of his life Patricia Ann Jones and they made their home in north Tulsa for many years.

Troy worked for 38 plus years at Lee C. Moore Company in Tulsa as a Layout Fit Up Welder. During this time, he was given the nickname “Pork Chop.” Once retired Troy and Pat moved to Crowder, OK, where Troy pursued his passion for fishing. Often times his freezer was so full of fish, Troy would try to give it away to friends and family. Together Troy and Pat enjoyed eating lunch at the Choctaw Senior Center and going on bus trips that the center organized. He and Pat always had a garden and planned everything by the Farmer’s Almanac. They always had a pantry full of canned food. In 2012 they moved to Bartlesville, OK. After 65 years of loving marriage Pat preceded him in death on April 6, 2014.

Troy is survived by one son Terry Smith and wife Debbie of Skiatook, OK; one sister Faye Lavelle Scantlin of Arkoma, OK; four grandsons Michael Bernal, Jaime Bernal, Russell Smith, Todd Smith; two granddaughters Stacey Smith, and Carrie Smith; and two great grandchildren; and numerous nieces nephews, as well as family & friends at the Bartlesville Health and Rehab Center where he resided . He is preceded in death by beloved wife, Patricia; his parents, William Henry and Iva Smith; two sisters, Loretta and Lavada; brother Charles; son Gary Smith and daughter Betty Bernal.

Visitation will be held on Monday from 10-8 at the Davis Family Funeral Home and Crematory – Walker Brown Chapel, 918-333-7665, 4201 Nowata Road, Bartlesville, OK.

Services will be held 11 a.m. on Tuesday, at the Davis Family Funeral Home and Crematory – Walker Brown Chapel. Services are under the direction of Carter Davis and the Davis Family Funeral Home and Crematory – Walker Brown Chapel. Online condolences and remembrances may be shared at
