MISTY DAWN (BOWDEN) SMITH "POOH" Misty passed away on July 6, 2024, in her home in Manor, Texas, after a short illness at the age of 53 years, 3 months and 6 days. Misty was born in Oklahoma City, Okla. on her great-grandfathers birthday, April 3, 1971, to Larry and Sharon (Morris) Bowden.
Misty grew up in Shawnee and attended Dale School graduating from Dale High School in 1989. She was in Dale's marching band and was also in color guard.
Misty had a passion for family law and received her Associates Degree from Platt College in 2000. She started work for Zwicker and Associates in California and transfered to Texas opening up a new office there. She continued in family law working for Margaglione Law and The Law Office of Willie and Dasher.
Misty is preceded in death by her father Larry Bowden, her brother Steven Bowden, her grandparents Denver and Pat Morris, Jack and Clora Bowden and Bertha Kitchen.
She is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Rob and Shelbie (Cartwright) Meraz, Gary and Korina (Trimble) Shores, one son Zackery Cartwright, granddaughter Lillian Lewis and grandson Phillip Meraz, sister Shelly Beltz, bonus sister and brother-in-law Jason and Shelley Mackey, bonus brother Josh Sponseller, mother and bonus dad Glen and Sharon Sponseller. Celebration of Life will be Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 11 a.m .at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1451 E 45th Street, Shawnee, Okla.
