Durant, OK- Funeral services for Mark Christopher Smith, 53, will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, May 19th, at Brown’s Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Greg Thralls officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Thursday, May 18th, at the funeral home.
Mark was born Monday, June 2, 1969 to James Kenneth Smith and Hazel Faye (Deason) Smith and passed from this life on Sunday, May 14, 2023 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas.
Mark graduated from Durant High School where he excelled in Math and played football. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his nieces and nephews. Mark attended Reynolds Chapel Baptist Church in Bokchito.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents; aunts, Gladys Knight, Joyce Evans, and Betty Beach; uncles, James Deason and Jerald Deason.
He is survived by his son, Rusel Smith of Durant, OK; daughter, Kindra Smith-Wagner of Maud, TX; sister, Janna Summerville and her husband, Kelly of Mead, OK; brother, Kenny Smith of Mead, OK; nieces, Ashley Summerville, Summer Hanson, and Rebecca Howard; nephews, Ethan Summerville, Chris Smith, and Michael Smith; and many other family members and good friends.
