Tahlequah---Maxine Smith, daughter of Wesley and Oner Doss was born Sept. 6, 1928 in Halls, Tenn. and departed this life Dec. 28, 2001 in Tahlequah at the age of 73 years, 3 months, and two days.
Memorial services were held Monday, Dec. 31, 2001 at the Hart Funeral Home with Brother Luther Taylor officiating. Services were under the direction of Hart Funeral Home. A homemaker, Maxine worked hard all her life and was devoted to her family, children, and grandchildren.
Her parents, first husband Walter Thomas McHolland and infant son Walter Thomas McHolland Jr. preceded her in death along with two sisters, Lois and Flossie and one brother, Son Doss.
She is survived by her five children, Jerry Lee McHolland and wife Lori of Waco, Texas; Ginger Jennings and husband Johnny of Tahlequah, Tommy McHolland and wife Joann of Wagoner, Dottie Evans of Tahlequah and Gregory Wayne McHolland of the home; two sisters and one brother, Tance Elise and Mozella; 19 grandchildren and a host of friends and other relatives.
