Marline Smith, Lawton, was born August 8, 1947 in Lawton to Marlin Smith and Betty Jo (Spearman) Smith. She passed away peacefully on October 23, 2017 at the age of 70. A memorial service will be held Thursday, October 26, 2017 at 10:00am at the Church of Latter Day Saints, 7003 Drakestone, Lawton. Arrangements are under direction of Whinery-Huddleston Funeral Service.
Marline graduated from Maud High School in Maud, OK in 1966. She moved to Lawton and started a family; she had 3 children. She worked at the snack bar at the Comanche County Courthouse of several years, before retiring. After retiring she became a caregiver for multiple people. She never met a stranger and everyone was her friend. Marline loved cooking, feeding people and cleaning. She loved dressing up for Halloween and loved playing Bingo! She loved chocolate malts....not milkshakes....it had to be malts!! Marline loved her grandchildren and spending time with them. She loved her fur babies also. Marline was a firm believer that Carmex was a cure-all fix for everything! She was a member of the Church of Latter Day Saints and loved her church family. She will be missed by many.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Marin and Betty Jo; brother, Ronnie C. Smith; and her children, Betty Mashell Brasher and Michael Wermy.
Survivors include her sister, Sheila Fraley and husband Craig of Lawton; daughter, Alicia Brasher of Lawton; granddaughters, Amber Carter and husband Aaron of Cache and Micaela Jo Wermy; daughter-in-law, Jessica Kennedy; great-grandchildren, Reid Lyon, Kelby Carter, Knox Carter and Presley Carter; nephews, Larry Frank Oliver and Little Ronnie Smith, Jr; niece, Sandi Reed; sister-in-law, Contessa Simpson; and numerous nieces, nephews, and close friends.
