Ted was born in Chickasha, OK, on July 12, 1937, and passed away after a courageous battle with Leukemia on November 2, 2007.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1955, in Frankfurt, Germany.
He settled in Bakersfield and retired from Gary Drilling Company. He moved to Lake Isabella in 2006.
He was a regular donor at the Houchin Blood Bank, belonging to the 13 Gallon Club.
Ted was an avid fisherman and loved to spend the summer months in Trinidad, CA, salmon fishing. He loved riding his motorcycles and was a member of the GWRRA and GWTA. He participated every year in the Toy Run.
Ted and Linda enjoyed traveling in their new motorhome along with their dog "Micky".
Ted was preceded in death by his father, Emmitt T. Smith of Taft, CA.
He is survived by his loving wife, Linda; mother, Georgia V. Farmer of Clovis; sisters, Jeanne Condon and Toni Boyd (Russell) both of Yakima, WA; a half brother, Ken Farmer of Clovis; two stepsisters, Margie Mier of Pleasanton, and Dottie Waldrop of Taft; two special nephews, Gary Phillips of Lake Don Pedro and Ted Hardiman of Puyallup, WA; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
Ted will be missed by longtime friends, Harry and Annie Saterbo and George and Sandy West. Ted was loved by all who knew him
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 8th, at 2:00 p.m., at The Mountain View Baptist Church, 2959 Erskin Creek Rd., Lake Isabella.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
