Jesse Franklin Smith, Jr., 73, of Blanchard, died Monday, December 11, 2017, at his home. The son of Jean and Jesse Franklin Smith, Sr., he was born February 25, 1944, in Hobart, Oklahoma.
Jesse served in the Army National Guard and was Christian in faith. He worked as a butcher in his early life and then went to work for General Motors and retired after 30 years of service. In his spare time, Jesse enjoyed being outdoors, working with his hands. He spent countless hours building things and fixing anything that needed it. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Marvel Smith.
Jesse is survived by two sons, Brandon Smith and his wife, Damaris, of Blanchard, and Frank Smith of Blanchard; his late wife's children, Ida, Rachel, Athena, Virgil, and John, and their families; two grandchildren, Avaleen Jesse Smith and Eileen Arroyo, both of Blanchard; his sister, Shirley Hunyadi and her husband, Eugene, of Oklahoma City; a nephew, Warren DeKinder and his wife, Angie, and their children, Cole and Alexandra, all of Prosper, Texas; and many other relatives and friends.
Memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, December 16, 2017, at the Eisenhour Funeral Home Chapel in Blanchard. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard. Online obituary and guestbook are available at www.eisenhourfh.com.
