Jeffrey Alan Smith
October 18, 1959 ~ December 04, 2018

A Celebration of Life for Jeffrey Alan Smith, age 59, of Enid, is 10:00 am, Monday, December 10, 2018 at Oakwood Christian Church with Reverend Eric Keller and Reverend Alan Siebel officiating.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 pm, on Sunday, December 9th, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Jeff was born on October 18, 1959 in Effingham, Illinois to Raymond and Doris (Saegesser) Smith, and passed away on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 surrounded by his family.

Jeff's family moved from Illinois to Enid in 1967, and then to Hennessey in 1969. He attended Hennessey High School, where he was on the basketball team and graduated in 1977. Following graduation, he attended Oklahoma State University where he studied Wildlife Management and Physics.

He met the love of his life Ellen Weuste while they both were employed at Long John Silvers in Stillwater. They were married August 15, 1981, and then made their home in Arkansas City, Kansas. He and Ellen were blessed with two sons, Alan and Aaron.

In 1982, Jeff began working for Rainbo Bread which eventually became Sara Lee Bakery Group, and he and Ellen moved to Stillwater; then in 1983, they relocated to Enid where he retired after 35 years.

For many years, Jeff was active in Children's Ministries at Oakwood Christian Church. He was a devoted family man who had a strong work ethic, ensuring that his family and others were cared for.

Jeff enjoyed watching sports, especially the Oklahoma State Cowboys, both basketball and football. He had a great sense of humor and had a great way of making most any situation comical.

Jeff is preceded in death by his father, Raymond Smith. He is survived by his mother, Doris Smith, of Enid; wife of 37 years, Ellen Smith of the home in Enid; two sons, Alan Michael Smith and wife Carley, and Aaron Isaac Smith all of Enid; two grandsons, Liam and Boston; a sister, Karen Vogt and husband Clif; and brother, Eric Smith and wife Rose, all of Hennessey; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family and friends.

Memorial contributions in Jeff's name may be made to the American Cancer Society or to The St. Mary's Volunteers to benefit the Cancer Center, with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.

Condolences may be made and services viewed online at www.LadusauEvans.com.
