George Robert "Bob" Smith
February 19, 1945 ~ October 17, 2020

George "Bob" Robert Smith, age 75, a longtime Stringtown, OK resident, was born on Monday, February 19, 1945, to Alwood Samuel and Anne Bell (Ballinger) Smith, at Ypslanti, MI. Bob passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at Stringtown, OK. He attended Earl Warren Elementary in Sacramento, CA and Elk Grove High School in Elk Grove, CA. Bob proudly served as Mayor of Stringtown.and was a truck driver for many years. He married Kathy Marie (Backman) on Friday, December 7th, 1973 at Carson City, Nevada. He was a member of Old Paths Baptist Church, Legacy Group in Stringtown, Pushmataha Sportsman Club, former member of McGee Creek bass club. He enjoyed bass fishing, hunting, especially with his grandson Dyllan, his buddy. Bob was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed reading, especially the bible, facebooking, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Bob is survived by his wife, Kathy Marie Smith of the home in Atoka, OK; daughters, Ruth Ann Smith Marlow and husband Onie of Stringtown, OK, Landa Jauregui and husband Jose of Utah; son, Brian Mullenix and wife Carrisa of Ponca City, OK; granddaughters, Mercedes Marlow and Lexie Marlow of Stringtown, OK, Trinity Mounce of Utah; great granddaughter, Amethyst of Utah; grandsons, Dyllon Marlow and Harley Marlow of Stringtown, OK, Noah Mounce of Utah; brothers in law, Aron Backman and wife Nancy of Temple, TX, Billy Backman and wife Tammy of Harrah, OK, Dennis Backman of Sacramento, CA, Daniel Backman of Sacramento, CA, Rickie Backman and wife Lisa of Pinehurst, ID; sisters in law, Suzzanna Gearhart of Sacramento, CA, Debbie Smith of Lewisville, ID, Sherry Deems and husband Donald of Atoka, OK, Judy Eagan and husband Jim Eagan of North Carolina, Ellen Smith of Tennessee, Janice Fredrickson of Reno, NV, Karen Fredrickson of Reno, NV; granddaughter, Amber Eubank and husband Alex of Ponca City, OK, Mariah Rogers of Ponca City, OK; grandsons, Brian Schaefer of Ponca City, OK, Robert Mullenix of Ponca City, OK, Alexander Mullenix of Ponca City, OK; great grandson, Easton Eubank of Ponca City, OK; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Alwood and Anne Bell (Ballinger) (Smith) Smith; brothers, Roger Smith and Kenneth Smith; brothers in law, Jerry Backman, Marvin Fredrickson; sister in law, Patty Fredrickson; 2 special friends since grade school, Albert Turner Jr, Melvin Gearhart.
