Floyd Aaron Smith, 76, of Mead, OK passed away on Friday, January 26, 2018 in Denison, TX. Floyd was born on May 22, 1941 in Wayne, OK to William Aaron and Zetta (Start) Smith. He graduated from Wayne High School and proudly served his country in the Army Reserves for 7 years. He married Sharon Jaylene Haley in Wayne on July 16, 1960. Floyd worked for Santa Fe Railroad where he retired and was a member of the Streetman Road Baptist Church. He loved to hunt, fish, and target practice with his guns.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one son Thomas Aaron Smith, and an infant brother and sister.
Floyd is survived by his wife Sharon of the home, one son Rodney Smith and wife Diane of Mead, brother Lloyd Smith of Purcell, OK, Grandson Ryan Smith and wife Kelsey of Loco, OK, granddaughter Amanda Wade of OKC, OK, aunt Pearl Abney of Wayne, OK, cousin Lois Roath of Purcell, OK, and three great grandchildren Austin, Coltin, and Michael.
Graveside services will be held at a later date in Maysville, OK. Family hour will be on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 from 7-8PM at Brown's Funeral Service Durant. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the Best Friends Animal Rescue in Durant. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.brownsfuneralservice.com.
